Making Your First Font

Dan Cederholm, one of the OG founders of Dribbble & designer extraordinaire, spent some time during the Pandemonium inspired by type he'd walk by every day in his neighborhood – and learning how to make a font from his inspiration, from scratch, without any previous experience.

Cuz when it comes down to it – making fonts doesn't have to be intimidating! In this upcoming workshop, Dan's gonna be sharing his type design journey & getting you set up and ready to start turning your letters into fonts of your own. Even if you've been with us in some of our other type design workshops, Dan's got a unique perspective on guiding beginners through the quickest, most fun path to font making.

We'll talk about inspiration, getting started with Glyphs app, tips and tricks for designing type. You'll make letters and we'll discuss them! We'll also dive deeper into some special topics like alternate characters, spacing & kerning, and more.
